The short version: this site has no cookies, no analytics, and no third-party tracking of any kind. The only personal information it collects is what you deliberately type into the contact form.
What is collected
If you submit the contact form, the following is recorded: your name, your email address, your organization if you provide one, your message, the IP address the submission came from, and the time it was received.
The IP address is recorded for one reason — limiting how many submissions can come from a single source, which is what keeps the form from filling with spam. It is not used to identify or profile you.
Nothing else on this site collects personal information. There is no analytics script, no advertising pixel, no embedded social media, and no cookie of any kind. Fonts are served from this site rather than from a third-party font service, so loading a page does not tell anyone else that you visited.
What it is used for
Replying to you. That is the entire purpose. Your submission is emailed to me and stored on the server that runs this site.
Your information is never sold, rented, or shared with anyone. It is not added to a mailing list, and submitting the form does not subscribe you to anything. If we end up working together, any information you share in that relationship is governed by our engagement agreement rather than this page.
How long it is kept
Contact form submissions are retained while they remain relevant to a potential or active working relationship, and are deleted when they no longer are. Rate-limiting records are discarded automatically within hours.
Where it is stored
This site is hosted on shared infrastructure operated by DreamHost in the United States. Form submissions are stored there and delivered to an email account also operated by DreamHost.
Third parties
Two links on this site take you somewhere else, and once you follow them you are subject to that service's own privacy practices rather than this one:
- The scheduling link on the contact page, which opens an external booking service. It collects whatever you enter when booking a meeting.
- The PlanVector application, which runs on separate infrastructure and has its own terms. Nothing about your visit to this marketing site is shared with it.
Your choices
You can ask me what information I hold about you, ask for a copy of it, or ask me to delete it. Email randy@randybrownadvisory.com and I will action it — there is no form to fill in and no verification hoop to jump through beyond confirming you are who you say you are.
You can also simply not use the form. Email works, and so does the phone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Because the site collects so little, material changes are unlikely without a corresponding change to how the site works.
