Pricing
Here is what it costs.
Every number is on this page. No discovery call required to find out whether you can afford me, and no quote that depends on how large your organization looks.
Consulting
Two retainers. Pick the one that fits.
Fixed monthly fee for a defined amount of time. No hourly billing, no surprises on the invoice, and no charge for the phone call you were not sure counted as billable.
Quarter time
About one day a week
$8,000/ month
Enough to own the reporting cycle, run the close calendar, and be in the room for the decisions that matter. The common starting point.
- Monthly reporting package and board materials
- Close management and the planning cycle
- A standing meeting plus availability in between
Half time
About two days a week
$15,000/ month
For organizations mid-build — a systems migration, a first real budget process, a finance function being stood up rather than tuned.
- Everything in quarter time, at higher throughput
- Hands-on build work rather than direction only
- Appropriate during migrations and turnarounds
Both retainers include PlanVector.
Every consulting contract comes with the software and the work to get it running — not as an upsell six months in, but from the start, because the reporting I build for you lives in it.
- The first year of PlanVector
- Normally $999 a year.
- Basic PlanVector implementation
- Normally from $2,500.
Engagements usually run three to six months at minimum, because anything shorter is diagnosis without treatment. Many continue at a reduced level once the foundation is stable.
Software
PlanVector on its own.
If you have a finance team and just need better tooling, you do not need to hire me to use it.
Monthly
$99/ month
Up to 20 users. Cancel whenever.
Annual
$999/ year
Up to 20 users. Works out to $189 less than paying monthly for twelve months.
Implementation
$2,500– $10,000
One time, depending on complexity. Most land under $5,000.
Need a custom connector?
For early adopters it is part of implementation, not a separate charge. A connector built for you usually serves the next organization too, so I would rather build it than bill you for it.
More than 20 users?
Both plans cover up to 20. Past that, get in touch and I will quote it honestly rather than pretending there is a published tier.
Do you have to buy implementation?
Usually, but not always. A straightforward chart of accounts and a clean QuickBooks file can often be set up without help. I will tell you which situation you are in before you pay for anything.
On the implementation range: it is indicative, and it is firmed up for your organization after we scope the work. I am still formalizing the tiers by feature and complexity. If a number here ever turns out to be wrong for your situation, you will hear it from me before you sign anything, not after.
Why this page exists
Hidden pricing is a negotiating tactic.
Almost every firm in this corner of the market makes you book a call to learn what they charge. That is not because pricing is complicated. It is because the number is easier to defend once you have invested an hour and started to like them — and because a quote assembled after seeing your financials can be shaped to what they think you will tolerate.
I would rather you know before we speak. If the retainer is out of reach, you have lost nothing finding that out here instead of on a second call. And if it is affordable, we can spend the conversation on your actual problem rather than circling the question neither of us wants to raise first.
The same logic applies to the implementation range. I have published the honest spread including the top of it, rather than advertising the floor and revising upward once the work is underway.
Know the numbers. Now the conversation.
Thirty minutes to describe what is breaking. If what you need does not match what I charge, I will say so.
